US Advice and guidance on COVID-19 for Insurance Insider events

Insider Publishing Group is closely monitoring developments regarding the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and will continue to assess the situation. As part of this process we are closely following the latest recommendations the World Health Organization (WHO) regarding COVID-19 to ensure the safety and health of our attendees. For the safety of our event participants, we will institute numerous safety measures and guidelines to safeguard our participants wellbeing during this time.

We ask all registered attendees to self-certify against the following criteria:

  • They have not traveled to Mainland ChinaIranSouth Korea or Italy within the 14 days prior to the event
  • They have not been in contact with anyone diagnosed with COVID-19
  • They have not travelled from Hubei Province of Mainland China

If an attendee is unable to self-certify against any of the criteria, then we ask that they substitute another attendee in their place, who can.

Additionally, any domestic travel restrictions imposed by the local authorities of the hosting country will have to be adhered to in addition to the self-certification above.

Insider Publishing will keep up-to-date information on our event website and will communicate any pertinent updates directly to registrants.

What we are doing to protect you

Insider Publishing will be working closely with the venue and all onsite suppliers to ensure appropriate extra processes are in place.

  • Hand sanitisers will now be provided at the registration desk at the events, in addition to hand sanitation already installed in all toilets and washrooms
  • We will have an increased frequency of cleaning and disinfection around the event venue
  • All venue surfaces and speaker microphones will be regularly sanitized throughout the duration of the event
  • Training of Event Staff and Hotel Staff on preventative measures
  • We will be monitoring our attendee list to check where people are travelling from. We will be calling anyone located in high risk areas and assessing whether they are fit to attend
  • Response plans for reported illnesses
  • Implementing and communicating protocols for prompt medical assistance and screening for attendees who feel ill during the event

What you can do to protect yourself

The World Health Organisation’s standard recommendations for the general public to reduce exposure to and transmission of a range of illnesses are as follows:

  • Frequently clean hands by using alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water
  • When coughing and sneezing cover mouth and nose with flexed elbow or tissue – throw tissue away immediately and wash hands
  • Avoid close contact with anyone who has fever and cough
  • If you have fever, cough and difficulty breathing seek medical care early and share previous travel history with your health care provider
  • If you feel unwell and believe you may be at risk, you should self-isolate. For further information please contact the onsite events team
